5 Day | 5 Cities | 5 Events

From 26th – 30th June the European Young Innovators Forum and Euromentors, in cooperation with 5 of its European Hubs, will organise the Youth Innovation Week. This consists of 5 events in 5 European cities over the course of 5 days, focusing on developments and trends in youth innovation relevant to the local ecosystems. The programme for the Youth Innovation Week sets the stage for EYIF’s headline event in Brussels — UnConvention 2015 (1st – 3rd July) — which, this year focuses on “Game Changers: Growth Hacking and Scaling-Up”.

The aim of the programme as a whole is to draw attention to what is needed on both a local and European level to encourage the development of European startups and foster growth and youth innovation. To achieve this, we have carefully selected 5 of our European Hubs to host tailor-made events on topics and subjects trending in their locality.

Euromentors is an action supported by the European Commission, launched as an initiative by DG Enterprise and Industry and chaired by the European Young Innovators Forum. Euromentors has set up a mentoring ecosystem to help spark, support and expand new business ideas and fuel Digital Entrepreneurship in Europe. The Youth Innovation week events are part of Euromentors activities.

Check out our agenda for the week:

To kick-off the Youth Innovation Week, we arrive in Warsaw on 26th June to join Entrepreneurial Poland and NE100 as part of the Res Publica Festival. Taking place at Mysia 3, this event is a meeting of the 100 “New Europe” innovators, the list of whom was published during the last European Forum for New Ideas.

The Res Publica Festival is the first Central European conference on strategies for innovation and creativity organized by Res Publica – a Polish think-do-tank, publisher of Res Publica Nowa, Visegrad Insight, and Magazyn Miasta journals, and project leader of the New Europe 100 list. Participants will include media activists, researchers, intellectuals, entrepreneurs, journalists and editors, social media and marketing experts, among many others, which is designed to foster innovation and create synergies between politics, digital society, and culture.

The event will also bring together New Europe 100 challengers – world-leading innovators from around the region. These individuals and organizations, business innovators, political challengers, social entrepreneurs, and cultural animators leverage technology to transform the region and create impact at a pan-European or even global scale. Their stories offer important lessons on technology-driven innovation, entrepreneurship, and broader socio-economic transformation in Europe, which currently urgently needs to reboot its economic and innovation performance.
